Food cost control for restaurant groups

A supplier change at one site should not leave the rest of your group working from old costs. We maintain your recipe and invoice records, review the changes and bring your operators the decisions that need attention.

Over 30 years of combined food-operator experience.
Free onboarding and a 30-day managed trial. No card required.
No charge if you decide not to continue.

01

The work behind a useful food-cost number

Across a growing group, pack sizes, recipes and supplier prices can drift between locations. More reports do not fix missing yields or an invoice matched to the wrong ingredient.

  • We organize your existing recipes, supplier invoices and selling prices, then follow up on missing pack sizes or yields.
  • We review invoice extraction and ingredient matches, maintain ingredient costs and check affected recipes for margin pressure.
  • We give your team specific questions and next actions on pricing, portions, purchasing and recorded waste. Your operators approve the decisions.

02

Shared recipes, local responsibilities

The included workspace supports shared recipes and ingredients across up to five locations. Your team uses location cost overrides, scoped access, stock counts, production plans and sales-demand projections to match your operation. A central kitchen is useful, but it is not required.

  • Your team records physical counts, waste, transfers and production actuals.
  • Our remote service maintains the food-cost records and follows up on costing exceptions and decisions.
  • We agree responsibilities, records and service timing before creating your trial workspace.

03

What a cost review can put in front of you

A useful review identifies the changed input, the affected recipes and the person who needs to decide. For example: has a supplier changed its pack size, should a portion be checked, or does a selling price need review? The next step stays with your authorized operator.

  • Compare the new supplier price on an equivalent unit basis.
  • Trace the effect through a recipe or sub-recipe.
  • We record the decision and follow up. Savings depend on your records and the actions your team takes.

Before we start

A few useful
answers.

Do we need a central kitchen?

No. We work with restaurant, café and bakery groups with two or more locations, including independently producing sites. We agree the recipe structure and location responsibilities around your operation.

Does the service run our kitchen or count our stock?

The service is remote. Your team runs production, counts physical stock and records movements. We maintain the costing records, review exceptions and follow up on the decisions with your team.

Can we keep our existing POS?

You can upload CSV or Excel sales files from your existing system. MenuCosting also includes an optional POS. We do not promise a native connection to every POS provider.
